We share the road with bigger, faster vehicles driven by people who may or may not pay attention. I ask people what their biggest fear is while riding on the road and by far the answer is "being struck from behind." It is a harsh reality that when we are struck from behind we are powerless and "naked."

I am constantly asked why I ride on the road. We have a huge network of roads and precious few trails and bike lanes. The obvious solution to me is to figure out the best way to use what we have, because I want to ride now, not wait until the government gives us another infrastructure.

The sport of BMX racing is gaining popularity all over the world, especially since it was made an official Olympic sport in the summer of 2008. BMX racing is a sport that is derived from motocross racing, hence the name, bicycle motorcross (BMX). It's been around since the 1960's, however it wasn't until the 1970's when more and more kids started to mimic the Motocross legends that they looked up to, increasing the popularity of the sport.
